What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a training methodology suitable for any level of fitness and any age that offers functional fitness at a high intensity level.
CrossFit Rotherham (based in Ecclesfield) is a community driven gym, we believe that fitness is for everyone, regardless of age, background, or fitness level. We have a culture of inclusion and development, all our members develop strength, fitness, and mobility through our expert coaching and guidance.
What does a class look like?
Classes are broken down into three elements and an hour long. We run the same class each
day throughout the day.
1. A skill focus – be that strength or gymnastics.
2. A workout
3. Mobility/cool down
The workouts are scaled to your level and ability, we meet you where you are at.
I’m worried I won’t be fit enough
We hear this a lot; it is the often the first thing people say to us when the get in touch. Its normal. In reply, any level of fitness is welcome at CrossFit Rotherham, you come to get fitter, stronger, and make a host of new friends – just trust us on this one, you can join as an elite athlete or someone who has been sedentary for years – we will get you to your goals.

What’s the age range?
Our youngest gym member is 8, and our oldest 84…….
Can I try a class?
No.
Let us explain, our fitness style is constantly varied, one class doesn’t give you a true representation of CrossFit; you need to sample a range.
All our new starters join us on a free month.
First up, you complete a CrossFit Induction at £45 – we run a foundation class every Thursday night at 6.30pm-8.30pm. The cost for this is £45.
Then you have 30 days to try the gym, and our friendly membership manager Jane will work you to make sure you have all you need. At the end of the 30 days, we will continue to check in with you, and if you don’t want to continue simply let us know and no additional membership fees will be taken, if not, for ease, you will roll into an unlimited membership with us.

Have you got showers, changing rooms?
Yes we do!
Are you family friendly?
Yes we are, children are allowed to sit in our coffee shop and observe their parents training through our glass doors and windows. All little people are their parents responsibility but we think kids watching their parents lead healthy lifestyles is pretty cool.
Me and husband joined CFR earlier this year and we absolutely love it. The variety within each class, the mixed ability I really love as it means it’s there’s always an option for each move no matter what your fitness but also, the social aspect.The coaches are fantastic and everyone within the classes are friendly, helpful and encouraging.I’d never go back to a ‘gym’ now after doing CrossFit and having this type of atmosphere.Thanks to everyone that’s made us feel so welcome

I’ve just started my second week at CFR and what a welcome it has been. I had reservations as a very overweight person around the exercises and difficulty.
What I found was that the coaches are supportive with swapping out stuff you can’t do for a different exercise.
What I have loved more is the community feel. During every workout I have been supported but others and it is full of positive vibes.

To say I’m not confident in a gym is an understatement… however when I joined cross fit I found a place I loved. I’m still not the most confident but everyone is willing to help and the coach’s are fantastic at helping you! There is never a limit to what you can do and everything is adaptable to all levels! I often look around and think ‘wow’ at all the inspirational people surrounding you in workouts, motivating you and cheering you on. I’ve found a gym I love, workouts that make a difference and most of all mental well being… which is what I’ve realised I need the gym for the most, getting me through some difficult times.
